Invert Tunnel Concrete

 

Outclassing rival tenders from industry-leading competitors, MPD secured the huge invert tunnel concrete installation package.

 

We were tasked with the delivery and placement of over 60,000 cubic metres of concrete along 16 kilometres of tunnel, which had to simultaneously accommodate TBM service vehicles, mining operatives, and non-stop deliveries of concrete rings.

 

MPD’s team of high-performing, multiskilled operatives worked day and night to install concrete inside the newly formed tunnel under a mobile steel bridge that allowed for safe and continuous traffic above. All in all, a huge feat of engineering ingenuity, effort and collaboration.
